First thing to know, residents are employees of the Health Authorities of British Columbia. Payroll and Benefits are administered by Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA) on behalf of Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH). UBC Postgraduate Medical Education informs the resident employer of updates to residents’ records that affect pay and benefits. All UBC residents employed by the Health Authorities are members of the Resident Doctors of BC (RDBC) professional association and are covered under the Collective Agreement.
