On Monday November 11th at 11am, which marks the anniversary of the end of the First World War, we traditionally take a minute of silence to reflect and give respect to the many Canadians who have made sacrifices in armed conflicts around the world. The impacts of war have had affects on the medical profession- for example, the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons was first proposed during WWI after a recognized need for consistent training practices across Canada as medical knowledge and skills increased drastically during the War.
