Counselling services are private and confidential meaning that your Program Directors, Administrators, Attendings, etc. will not be informed about your access to the Resident Counselling and Peer Support Office. Information about you, the type of counselling services you access, and the context of your counselling sessions cannot be released without your written permission, with the following exceptions:
- information indicating that you may constitute a risk to yourself or to others
- information indicating that a child is in need of protection
- information that leads to concerns about public safety
- other statutory or common-law provision that requires or authorizes the release of confidential information
