Residents as Teachers

As a medical resident, you play an integral role in our healthcare system — caring for patients, while training to become expert practitioners in your chosen specialty. You also play a critical role as teachers of medical students and junior residents.

Residents as Teachers (RaT) Initiative

Here at UBC, we recognize that there’s a growing need to support residents to become effective teachers. That’s why the Office of Faculty Development has launched a new program-wide initiative: Residents as Teachers (RaT), which will support residency programs to implement and deliver a comprehensive curriculum that addresses core teaching competencies over the course of a resident’s training experience.

To find out more about the RaT initiative and identify a plan for developing your RaT program, please visit the Residents as Teachers website.
